Study of proof processes in proof education with proof materials prepared by animition

In this study, we were able to develop proof materials with computer-aided animations and to make these materials in middle school 7. It is intended to examine the proof processes in the class students. Qualitative research method was used in this research in order to reveal the learning processes related to activities in the teaching of proof of students as a whole and it was patterned with The Bill Research. The research was carried out with 15 seventh graders studying at a public school in the central district of Ankara province. In the first phase of the research, preliminary clinical interviews were carried out in order to reveal the preliminary knowledge of the students about proving. In the preparatory phase after this phase, the secondary school curriculum was examined at all class levels and the subjects, gains and rules that can be proven at the secondary school level were determined. Following the determination of animation topics, the development of learning itineraries and teaching activities based on assumptions has been phased out. Four themes have been identified for the research and 10 teaching events have been developed. Pilot studies were carried out for 5 of the teaching activities and according to the results obtained from this study, all animations and activities were finalized based on expert opinion. Audio recordings, video recordings and activities were examined every week after the application during the 10-week teaching experiment phase. At the end of the application, the final clinical interviews were carried out with all the students involved in the research. The data collection tool used in the research, the Proof Study Clinical Interview questions form was used. This 18-question test included open-ended questions and a rubric was created for each question. The data collection tools used during the teaching experiment phase are notes and audio recordings of the student and the researcher. Content analysis method was used in the analysis of one-to-one clinical interviews with students in the aim of observing their proving skills and development. When the proving processes of the students are examined in general, it is seen that the teaching experiment conducted using proof animations and teaching activities developed within the scope of the research has increased the Level of Proof determined in the preliminary interview questions from 0 to 2-3-4, students are able to make proofs of the specified subjects and their perceptions of proof develop in a positive way. In the preliminary interview test, it was seen that the students who left the proof questions blank had undergone some of the proof phases even after the application, and that the students did not use or under-use mathematical notations in the questions they answered using nonvergical (visual) proof.
