In this study we aimed to evaluate the health status of the artists at Ankara State Opera And Ballet. This research is a descriptive study. The universe of the research is consists of artists at Ankara State Opera And Ballet with orchestra staff, total of 136 people. The study is done with 71 people ( % 52,2 of the universe) who are participating in voluntary among 136 artists. Data were collected by researchers using face to face interview technique by the help of the questionnaire which was consists of 23 questions and 1 physical examination part. Survey was consist of questions about demographic findings, sistemic diseases, lifestyle habits and occupational diseases of artists. Like other professions, opera, ballet and orchestra artists also has their own occupational diseases.In this research the prevalence of systemic disease of artists were founded as 74,6 %. The most frequently observed in systemic diseases was gastroesophageal reflux ( 26,8 %). This situation is consistent with clinical data. When artists were evaluated according to body mass index groups, 50,7 % were found to be overweight and 8,5 % were found to be obese. According to both sexes waist circumference values were in high risk groups. Measured blood pressure values at 14.1 % of participants were exceed the limit values. Smoking and alcohol consumption habits of the participants were found to be in the high level. Because of all these, the prevalance of existing diseases are thought to be high.As well as everyone opera, ballet and orchestra artists should pay attention general health guidelines. By these rules to be followed to protect the health, artists are recommended to make some lifestyle changes for occupatioanl diseases, particularly for most frequently observed reflux.
