Prevalence and associated factors of occupational accidents and disease at electricity distribution workers in Ankara

The purpose of this research work accidents and occupational diseases in workers engaged in electricity distribution business with related factors to determine the incidence. Research during the 2011 March?June period over the lives of workers, work accidents and occupational disease has been questioned. Questionnaire consisting of 48 questions used for research and SPSS software was used for statistical analysis. The first sections of the thesis of occupational health and safety (OHS) provided general information about, was the definition of occupational accidents and occupational disease. To the end of the survey that is applied to evaluate the data obtained were transferred to a computer program. The survey applied to 260 workers in the form of face-to-face interview. All of the participants were male. 84,2% of the participants' stay technical / vocational high school graduates, 33,12 averageage of employees is. 98,8 % of the workers participating in the research was received a medical report when starting a business, with 95% of the work shift system, 52,7 % satisfied with the periodic inspections, 41,2 % percent that the workplace occupational health and safety board,57,7 % 's business outlook is good enough supervisors to OHS, 83,8% percent received vocational training prior to commencement of work, 85,8 % was received OHS training before starting work, 74,6 % then the work performed received training on the risks related to occupational injury, 32,3 % studied work-related laws, statutes, regulations stated that they have studied about. As a result, 23,8 % of research participants' scroll was determined to have had a work accident. Work accident resulted with electric shock and arc burns. Electrical accidents at work employees work more than 6 years less than 1 year, is not satisfied with periodic inspections, is not satisfied with working conditions, inadequate training given to those who find job security, job supervisors more frequently than the founders of inadequate perception.
