Abstract (EN)

This thesis, titled "The elements of folklore in Ankara Gölbaşı District Oğulbey Neighborhood", has been prepared in order to keep the folk culture, values, traditions and customs of the Oğulbey district alive and to be a source for keeping them alive. In this direction, folklore products belonging to Oğulbey neighborhood were examined, and it was aimed to convey the beliefs and practices that were on the verge of being forgotten. In this way, it is aimed to establish a bridge between the past and the future in order to preserve the vitality of folk culture and contribute to its survival by transferring it to future generations. This study is a field research study. During the field research, the compilation was made by using interview and observation methods. Our study consists of nine chapters excluding the introduction. The introduction examines how compilation methods are implemented in the field. In the first chapter, besides the historical, geographical and cultural characteristics of the province, district and neighborhood, agriculture and animal husbandry, nicknames used in the village and the family, fountain and place names of the village are discussed. The second part of the study deals with the transition periods of Oğulbey neighborhood. In the third part, holidays, religious ceremonies, seasonal ceremonies and celebrations are discussed. In the fourth chapter, folk beliefs are included. In the fifth chapter, folk medicine, folk veterinary medicine and its applications are explained. Folk cuisine in the sixth section, clothing culture, dowry, jewelry and handicrafts, women's and men's folk dances in the seventh section, folk calendars and folk architecture in the eighth section, and folk literature products in the ninth section.
