Ankara city Bala town Afşar region folklore

Every nation has its own material and spiritual values. These values are a bridge between people's past and future, and are a sign of how people live. Mankind must adhere to these values that it has brought to the changing society structure and developing technology, and these values must be transferred to future generations. In this study, it was aimed to determine Afşar regional folklore, to compile the cultural values of the region which has not started to lose its traditional structure in the face of technology, and to transfer this cultural heritage to future generations. In the study, the history and geographical structure of the Afşar region was first mentioned. Information about traditions and customs made in past, present and present birth, marriage and death ceremonies was given. The festivals, national ceremonies, religious ceremonies and seasonal ceremonies are mentioned. Some traditional practices in the field are explained. The traditions and customs of the table are accompanied by a variety of dishes, handicrafts, clothing, culture, games played by children and elders to enjoy themselves among themselves. The treatment methods used to cure diseases and public beliefs affecting society and human life have been compiled. In folk culture, verbal products take a serious place. Each area has its own oral literature. Oral literary products belonging to this region are also compiled and classified under three main headings: speaking types, narrative types and discourse types. In the conclusion of our research, it is emphasized that all of our material and moral values, which have been lost to face, should be registered as soon as possible.
