Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out to find out phenotypic characters of 2 white (BLUE and BLACK), and 5 brown colored (RIR I, BAR I and LİNE 54) laying hen line which improved at Ankara Poultry Research Institutes. It was introduced that the qualitative characteristics (the color of the earlobe, the color of the spur, the color of the feather, the color of the beak, the color of the skin, the color of the leg, the color of the wattle, and the color of the egg shell, the shape of the comb) of laying hen line. Some quantitative characters (breast, beak and shank size, body weight gain, feed intake, mortality range, sexual maturity age and weight, the weight of the first ten eggs, 50% of egg production, egg production and egg quality) determined and compared aspect of these characters of laying hen line. Both growing and laying period, the differences between white genotypes and colored genotypes showed significant differences (P<0.05). As a result, BLUE genotype in white laying hens and BAR I genotype in colored laying hens showed better performance than the others in the research conditions.Key Words: Pure Line, Phenotype, Egg Yield and Weight, Mortality Range.
