Abstract (EN)
The main aim of this research is to explore all of the resources written about the Art of Illumination which have important place in Turkish Traditional Handcraft using literature review technique and using the information gathered throughout the abovementioned study to compose the ?Analysıs of Illumınatıon Ornamentatıons of Kur' an-ı Kerim Numbered 18, 197, 198 at the Ankara Museum of Foundatıon Pıeces.?The study is started by researching books, journals, essays and thesese which are related with Art of ıllumination. Publication information about the resources obtained and data in references section are recorded.The research is composed of five chapters. In the first chapter, problem concerning the research is discussed and its importance in terms of the research is emphasized. It is in this section that is found out that our handcrafts are cultural products which emerge from production formats in line with the requirements of the social life. Also in this chapter aim, significance and scope of the research is destermined and stated.In the second chapter, resources about the subject of the research are analyzed, and data based on research findings are gathered and formulated.In the third chapter, the method of the research is mentioned. In this chapter, the methods implemented in the research phase are outlined.In the fourth chapter, findings and interpretation are provided. The findings are explained by ranging from the general to the specific and also information about historical development of the museum and data about the illuminations subject are provided. Finally, instruments, products, areas of use, colors, equipments used, tools, decoration subjects and composition characteristics used in the illuminations are explained in detail.In the fifth chapter, conclusion and suggestions are provided in the light of the reasearch presented in the previous chapters. The research subject is completed with the references explained at the end of the study. Also in this chapter, general information about the Art of Illumination is provided in the context of the research and illumination ornamentations mentioned before are analyzed.As a last word, it is considered that this research can be a valuable resource for the researchers who carry out studies about the Art of Illumination or who will require the information about this matter which is also our cultural heritage. It is expected that this study can be a guide book for Culture and Art Researches.
