Abstract (EN)

Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS) is the most common chronic inflammatory rheumatic joint disease within the spondyloarthritis family. In this study, the usability of blood parameters for early diagnosis of AS was investigated retrospectively. The study includes 226 patients who applied to BAİBÜ Medical Faculty Hospital between 2017 and 2021 and were diagnosed with AS according to ASAS/EULAR. HLA B27 analyzes of the patients were performed with Real Time PCR. The blood parameters examined are HGB, HTC, MCV, PDW, AST, ALT, urea and creatinine. Statistical analyzes were performed using the SPSS version.20.0.0 package program and compliance with normal distribution was calculated with the Shapiro-Wilk test. All parameters were evaluated non-parametrically. Differences in blood parameters were compared using the Mann-Whitney U test and Student's t test (p≤ 0.05). Comparisons were made according to the suitability of the studied blood parameters to normal distribution, HLA B27 positive-negative and male-female discrimination. Most recently, CAA values were examined in HLA B27 positive and negative groups among patients with AS. As a result, there is an increase in HGB rates in both HLA B27 positive and HLA B27 negative patients with AS; Decrease in HCT, PDW and creatinine (at their minimum values); Median values of ALT and AST ratios are low, maximum values are extremely high; It was determined that MCV and urea were not suitable parameters.
