Investigation of the relationship between parents and growing children on the attitude of self-esteem

The aim of this study is to examine whether the attitudes of parents with child-rearing establish between relationship and self-esteem. The has examined the relationship between age and self-esteem of parents. Besides of parents, gender, year of marriage, number of children, education level, occupation do not have been studied differed according to their self-esteem and monthly income. Research was conducted on 146 married couples livingin İstanbul. Schaefer determines the parents' child-rearing attitudes and Bell (1958) was developed by and Le Compte and Özer (1978) was adapted to the Family Life and Child Rearing Attitudes Scale (PARI) scale was used. Parents determine their self-esteem Rosenberg (1965) developed by the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale was used. In additionally,these families were developed by researchers to learn about the properties identified under the Personal Information Form is used for research. Pearson moments of the research covered by their parents in order to measure the relationship between child-rearing attitudes and self-esteem which are used in the product correlation. Correlation analysis of the age of the parents was used to investigate the relationship between self-esteem. According to the specifications set of parents (sex, years of marriage, number of children, education level, occupation and monthly income) to measure whether it differs self-esteem t-test and ANOVA were used. The differences were observed in the groups analyzed by Tukey's multiple comparison test with the post-hoc tests it was determined that there is a difference between what the groups. Strong correlation is between the survey results and a positive self-perception, particularly, in democratic and egalitarian parental attitudes were observed. Besides, being a profession has been shown to have a positive impact on revenues of having high self-esteem.
