Abstract (EN)

Most parents are undecided about how they will treat their children in the process of divorce. However, the information and support provided by parents play an important role in the child's adjustment to divorce. The children of divorced families can be affected by this and there might be changes in their self-esteem. Normally, children's self-esteem grows with age, but this can make a difference in the children of divorced parents. In addition, childhood depression can be seen in the children of the some scattered families. The childhood depression may originate from a weak or negative parental relationship, as well as through genetic and learning. In this study, self-esteem and childhood depression are examined in the frame of the socio-demographic relations of the children of divorced parents. This study is aimed to investigate the differences between them and determine the points which are affected in the positive or negative manner. There was a negative correlation between child depression and self-esteem.
