Mothers' postpartum security feelings and influencing factors

Özet (EN)
Aim: Measuring the mother's feelings of security in the postpartum period todetermine the factors affecting them. Materials and Methods: The research was conducted in a cross-sectional descriptive design. The sample of the study consisted of mothers who gave birth within a year in the Nükhet Salim Yavaş Family Health Center No. 4 affiliated with Manisa Provincial Health Directorate and Şehzadeler District Health Directorate (N:330) and 200 mothers were included in the sampling. The data were collected by the researcher with the face-to-face interview technique. It was collected using the Information Form and the Mothers' Postpartum Sense of Safety Scale. In the evaluation of the data; number, percentage, independent groups t-test, Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis test for variables with three or more groups were used. Results: The mean age of the mothers participating in the study was found to be 27.82±5.23. It was found that 31% of the mothers were primary school graduates, 28.5% were secondary school graduates, the mean age at marriage was 21.40±3.58 and 89% of the mothers were not working. The total mean score of ADSGHO was found to be 51.24±9.65. The lowest score the mothers got on the scale was 27, the highest score was 70. While the sub-dimension with the highest average score in the scale was reinforcing behavior, the sub-dimension with the lowest average score was determined as breastfeeding behavior. It was found that the postpartum security feelings of the mothers were related to receiving physical and emotional support from their spouses and family during pregnancy and postpartum period. Conclusion: It was concluded that the mothers' sense of security was generally high, and that the sense of security of mothers who received support from their spouse and family during pregnancy and postpartum period was positively affected.
