Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to examine the relationship between mothers' feelings of guilt and humiliation, fear of self, and child development. In addition, the relationships of some sociodemographic variables with the perceived child-rearing process, fear of self, guilt, and minimization also change. The research consists of 171 mothers living in Kocaeli and some districts of Kocaeli. Within the scope of the research, Parents' Child-Rearing Attitude Scale, Guilt-Shame Scale and Fear of Self Scale were used. In the research, descriptive statistics were used to determine various demographic characteristics and the distribution of the information obtained. Linear relationships between dependent variables are also available to determine the parts between variable variables. Kruskal Wallis H Test Jonckheere Terpstra Test is ready. The existence of distributions between the independent variables of the study was tested with the Spearman Correlation Test. Accordingly, a strong positive linear relationship was found between the participants' feelings of guilt and shame. As the guilt felt by the participants in the face of a mistake increases, the shame they feel about it also increases. Although not very strong, there is a linear relationship between mothers' guilt test scores and desired parental attitudes and self-fear scores. It is seen that as the shame test scores of the participants increase, the desired parental attitudes and fear of self scores also increase. Looking at the analysis results, it is seen that the participants' desired parental attitudes scale scores differ significantly according to their marital status. Pairwise comparison tests were conducted to determine which groups the difference was between, and as a result of these tests, it was determined that the differences between the scores of married mothers and the scores of divorced and widowed mothers were significant. Accordingly, it can be said that married participants exhibit more desired parental attitudes than divorced and widowed participants. Looking at the analysis results, it is seen that the participants' undesirable parental attitudes scale scores differ significantly according to their marital status. In order to determine which groups the difference is between, pairwise comparison tests were conducted and as a result of these tests, it was determined that the differences between the scores of the participants with two children and the scores of the participants with one child were significant. Accordingly, it can be said that participants with one child exhibit more undesirable parental attitudes than participants with two children. It is seen that as the number of children the participants have increases, undesirable parental attitudes decrease. Similarly, it is seen that as the number of children of the participants increases, their sense of self decreases. It is seen that as the number of siblings they have increases, their feelings of guilt also increase. When the presented analysis results are examined, it is seen that the undesirable parental attitudes decrease as the number of siblings the participants have increases. It seems that the difference between The findings obtained were also examined in the relevant literature. Key Words: Mothers' child-rearing process, guilt, belittlement, fear of self
