Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT PHYTOSOCIOLOGICAL STUDY ON HIGH MOUNTAIN VEGETATION OF ANTALYA BEYD A?LARI (TAHTALI, TEKE, ÇALBALI, POZAN, UZUNKARIŞ, ÖZDEMİR VE KARTAL MOUNTAINS) ÖZKAN EREN Ph.D. in Biology Adviser: Prof. Dr. Mustafa GÖKÇEO?LU January, 2006, 174 pages In this study, high mountain vegetation of Antalya-Beydağlan (Tahtalı, Teke, Çalbalı, Pozan, Uzunkanş, Özdemir ve Kartal Mountains) was phytosociologically studied using the modified Braun-Blanquet method. A total of sixteen plant communities were distinguished and classified syntaxonomically. From these units two associations (Astragaletum microrchidis Eren ass. nova, Polygono karacae- Astragaletum cretici Eren ass. nova), two communities (Asyneuma pulvinatum community, Arenaria eliasina community) and one geographical race (Lamietum cymbalarllfolii - Ricotia davisiana geographical race) are new to the science. In the light of the new data presented here and due to syntaxonomical necessities two subassosiations [subass. verbascetosum pestalozzae (Quezel) Hein, Kiirschner & Parolly 1998 ve subass. arabidetosum lyciae Parolly, Hein & Kiirschner, corr. 2004] that belong to the Aethionemo lycii-Laserpitietum petrophili Hein, Kiirschner & Parolly 1998 were sunken into the synonymy of subass. typicum. The taxa collected during the vegetation studies was presented under the title of flora of research area as a separate chapter. It includes annotated floristic cataloque of 762 taxa. The flora in general is characterized as rich in endemics (232 taxa, endemism rate 30.5 %) of chiefly East Mediterranean (montane) origin and Irano-Turanian chorotypes. Both in floristic and IVvegetational respects, the study area clearly phytogeographically belongs to the Lycian Sector of the Tauric Subprovince and South Anatolian Province. To further characterize the units, floristic list and communities recorded in research area were analyzed to life forms and chorotypes respectively.
