Evaluation of burnout levels of family physicians working in family health centers in Antalya during the COVİD 19 Pandemic period

Evaluation of the Burnout Levels of Family Physicians Working in Family Health Centers in Antalya during the COVID 19 Pandemic Period. Objective: It is aimed to evaluate the Burnout Levels of Family Physicians Working in Family Health Centers in Antalya during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Methods: Our descriptive and cross-sectional study was sent to our target group, 770 family physicians, through a questionnaire set, and answered by 365 family physicians working actively in Antalya province and sent to us. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 22. Findings: A total of 365 family physicians, 228 (62.5%) of whom were women, participated in the study. 82.7% of the participants with an average age of 49.9 ± 7.1 are married. Participants' average duration of working in the profession was calculated as 25 ± 7.2 years and the duration of working as a family doctor was 8.7 ± 2.7 years. The average emotional exhaustion score of the family physicians participating in the study was 17.28 ± 7.1, the depersonalization score was 5.97 ± 3.37, and the personal accomplishment score was 10.36 ± 3.71. The Emotional Burnout score of 66% of the participants is low, 27.4% is medium and 6.6% is high. When desensitization levels are examined, 78.4% of them are low, 17.8% is medium and 3.8% is high. While 99.7% of the participants had a low personal accomplishment score, it was observed that only one participant had a medium sc Conclusions: According to our study, participants had a low level of emotional exhaustion, a low level of depersonalization and a low level of personal accomplishment burnout. The reason for the low level of burnout seen at all three levels in the study is that the study was conducted at the very beginning of the pandemic. More long-term work is needed to provide a comprehensive assessment of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic process on burnout levels and how to better approach and mitigate burnout during such periods.
