Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to determine the seroprevalence of leishmania disease in dogs housed in Antalya province. In the study, "Canivet LSH Ab Rapid Elisa Test Kit" was used to detect leishmania antibodies in 100 dogs of different sexes and ages in three different shelters. According to the test method used, 4 out of 100 dogs were determined as seropositive. While 3 of the 4 seropositive dogs showed symptoms, 1 of them was asymptomatic. Again, 3 of these 4 dogs were mixed breeds, and the dog that was asymptomatic was a German shepherd. 3 of 43 male dogs used in the study were male (6.97%), 1 of 57 females. (1.75%) was found to be seropositive. Although statistically a high rate of leishmania disease was not determined in dogs bred in shelters in Antalya province in terms of age and sex of the disease, due to the fact that the disease is zoonotic, necessary treatments were made about the diseased dogs and studies were started to prevent the transmission of the disease to other dogs.
