Abstract (EN)

Climate change and global warming affect the processes of the water cycle, which causes negative consequences for human and environmental health, especially in urban areas. Considering the fact that more than half of the world's population lives in cities, there is a need for sustainable water management planning for cities within the scope of climate change adaptation process. In this context, blue infrastructure planning and applications are the leading solutions adopted in recent years to include existing water resources and water structures in urban planning processes, to make urban areas more sustainable and especially to make cities resistant to climate change. Blue infrastructure refers to a system based on the continuity of all and water resources in the city and these resources. The aim of the study is to analyze the blue infrastructure system of Antalya city. In this context, the pre-urbanization and existing blue infrastructure elements of the Antalya city, with the districts of Kepez, Muratpaşa and Konyaaltı, where the urban texture and land use are most intense, were determined. Based on the current land uses of the city and soil data, permeable, semi-permeable and impermeable areas in the city were determined for rain and surface waters; drainage lines were defined by flow direction and flow accumulation analysis; surface flow values were calculated with the curve number method of US SCS. As a result of all these analyses, for the study area, 35,115 ha of gray infrastructure to improve the blue infrastructure, 7,946 ha of green infrastructure, 3,550 ha of gray and green infrastructure, 38,971 ha of protection area that can be supported by green infrastructure, and 11,703 ha area to be protected has been proposed. The research is among the first studies carried out in our country on blue infrastructure, which is the interface between landscape planning and water resources planning. It is expected that the research outputs will be a guide for finding solutions to the management of rain and surface waters in the whole city for floods and floods that are frequently experienced in Antalya and result in serious losses.
