Study of urban transformation projects in Antalya Kepez district and determination of public approaches

Over the years, physical, social and economic changes have played an important role in shaping cities. Factors such as the change in the production structure of our country, migration from rural to urban, population sample increased the need for housing, causing unplanned growth of cities and a decrease in green spaces in and arounda the city. Urban transformation projects are implemented in order to make the socially and physically deteriorated areas suitable for life, to reorganize the transportation network, to provide social and economic balance, and to protect the natural environment. Within the scope of the research, the natural, cultural and social characteristics of the Kepez district and the reports, theses and related laws on the projects implemented in the study area were examined and the effects of the projects and the importance of these projects in terms of urban sustainability were revealed as a result of the observations. In line with the data of 390 user surveys conducted in the study area, the urban transformation perception, approach and expectations of the people were determined. With the data obtained at the end of the study, some suggestions are presented for reducing or eliminating the problems of the area and for a successful urban transformation project. According to the results of the survey, in the answers they gave about the area they lived in, they stated that natural and cultural deteriorations were experienced and continued to be experienced over time. At the same time, they are of the opinion that urban transformation projects cannot solve these problems, on the contrary, this situation may continue.With this study, the concepts related to transformation in the environment and in our country were analyzed with the concepts related to transformation in the world and in our country, the rapid transformation of the people was revealed, and the current situation of the projects implemented in Antalya Kepez district was examined in terms of landscape architecture and suggestions were made.
