Tombs of Antalya

Antalya has managed to be an important center every period thanks to its climate, fertile soil and long coastline. The city of Antalya, which has been home to many civilizations for centuries, bears rich architectural traces of the past. Architectural structures, which are living witnesses of history, are among the most important elements that provide information about the experiences they have experienced and the changes they have undergone and their periods decisively. In the city, which contains architecturally important works, it was observed that the mausoleum structures were not sufficiently studied in terms of art history. A study entitled "Antalya shrines' was prepared with the idea of eliminating this deficiency. In our study, the tombs dating to Anadolu Selcuklu, principalities and Ottoman period in Antalya provincial center and districts were examined. The mentioned shrines were evaluated under two different main headings. As a result of field and Resource Research, fourteen mausoleum structures have reached today in the provincial center and districts of Antalya. The remaining sixteen mausoleum structures have been rebuilt in recent years, and a total of thirty shrines have been identified. Mentioned shrines; Antalya provincial center is mainly located in Alanya, Elmalı, Serik, Akseki, Finike, Gundogmus, Ibradi, Korkuteli and Manavgat districts.
