Under-mosaic sounding findings from the terrace house in Antandros

Archaeological findings have found under the apodyterium mosaic floor and portico of house in Antandros Roman Villa that dated late 3rd century AD and Early 4th century AD during the restoration. It is decided to study to finds, in order to having idea about previous layers of house and supported to establishment period. During the same years, some floor which are belongs to second usage stage of house are uncovered in Room 15th and Room 14th used as oven (Early period of praefurnium). In order to understand of when started second usage stage of building, it has been removed and the findings where have found under the floor, is evaluated in this thesis. 887 pieces were examined and 153 of them were evaluated in this thesis. Rest of these were used as statistical data. The findings are made group firstly according to kind of decoration class, undecorated peaces are made a group with their shapes. There is a peace of East Greek Pottery and Grey Ware Ceramics are the earliest production of this context. Except of this group, Red Figure Pottery, Black Glazed Pottery, West Slope Ware, Moulding Pottery are classified by their decoration firstly, then they divided by their forms. Ceramics without decoration, Thin Walled Ware, cooking pots, grey wares, service jugs, amphoras and coins are rest of the finding groups. When findings where have been found in Portico and Apodyterium are evaluated, the earliest samples are belong to Late 8th Century BC. The latest samples are 3rd century AD which is supported the Terrace House foundation period. On the other hand, in the Room 14th space, there have been found a coin which is dated 356-361 AD, pointed to the second usage stage.
