Özet (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the existence of the Crab Basket Syndrome, which is defined as individuals trying to pull down those who are in a superior position by being jealous of them in the field of coaching, which is one of the professions with intense competition; to determine its relationship with the self-efficacy levels of coaches and to reveal the differences in terms of demographic variables. In the study conducted with the screening model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, the Demographic Information Form, the Crab Basket Syndrome Scale (CSS) and the Coach Self-Efficacy Scale (ACS) prepared by the researcher were used as data collection tools. Data were collected from a total of 170 coaches, 71 of whom were female and 99 of whom were male, via face-to-face and online survey methods. The obtained data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program. In the normality analysis performed on the data, it was seen that the data showed a normal distribution and the Independent Sample T-test and One-Way ANOVA tests were used from the parametric tests. Pearson correlation analysis was performed in order to determine the relationship between the scale sub-dimensions. According to the analysis findings, significant differences were found in favor of men in the behavioral sub-dimension of YSSÖ according to the gender variable; in favor of individual sports in the emotional, behavioral sub-dimensions and scale total score according to the branch variable; and in favor of individuals with high income in the cognitive sub-dimension and scale total score according to the monthly income variable (p<0.05). In addition, a significant difference was observed in the performance adequacy sub-dimension and total score of AÖYÖ according to the stage variable, and in the behavioral sub-dimension of YSSÖ in favor of high-level coaches (p<0.05). No statistically significant difference was found in other demographic variables and sub-dimensions (p>0.05). In the correlation analysis conducted in order to examine the relationship between scales, no statistically significant relationship was found between Crab Basket Syndrome and coach self-efficacy levels (p>0.05). These findings reveal that Crab Basket Syndrome may change depending on some demographic variables in the professional dynamics of coaches, but there is no direct relationship between this syndrome and the perception of self-efficacy; In this respect, it contributes to the organizational behavior and professional development literature. Key Words: Coach, crab basket, self-efficacy, sendromu
