Abstract (EN)

Thirtytwo cases who underwent bioprosthetic aortic valve replacement between September 2008 and August 2012 are included in this study. Relationship between reoperation rate, survival, mortality and age, gender, body surface area (BSA), effective orifice area index (iEOA), preoperative diagnosis and postoperative follow-up variables have been investigated. In our study, 32 patients who underwent implantation of bioprosthetic valve at aortic position between the dates of September 2008 - August 2012, were evaluated and analysed comperatively by age, gender, BSA, preferred valve size, iEOA, preoperative diagnosis and postoperative follow-up variables, mortality, reoperations and transvalvular gradient. Echocardiographic data were available for 19 of 32 patients participated in the study and mean aortic gradient was calculated as 25mmHg. Nine patients died during follow-up, and 2 patients underwent reoperation, and one of them died in the early postoperative period. Reoperation-free survival rate was 68.8% at the end of the study. Average follow-up period was 363 days (±129-1339). One-year survival rate was 83.8%, and two-year survival was between 67,5% to 75%. We have found no significant effect of iEOA> 0.85, bigger valve size and smaller BSA on survival rate. Age, sex and pre-operative diagnostic criteria also had no effect on survival rate.
