The effect of perceived organisational support,work engagement and job crafting on innovation studies in enterprises with R&D departments: TRB1 region

an increasingly competitive business world, innovation provides businesses with significant advantages in ensuring their sustainability, accelerating their growth and gaining competitive advantage in the market. R&D is a process that aims to develop innovative technologies that can provide competitive advantage and innovation often emerges as a result of R&D activities. This study aims to examine the effect of perceived organizational support, work engagement and job crafting variables on innovation activities in enterprises with R&D departments in TRB1 Region (Elazığ, Malatya, Tunceli, Bingöl). Perceived organizational support includes factors such as resources, training and guidance offered by a business to enable its employees to do their jobs more effectively. By providing this support to its employees, the business can contribute to their developing more commitment to their jobs. Work engagement refers to the level of commitment and enthusiasm employees have for their jobs. Employees who are engaged in their work approach their work with great energy and dedication, which positively affects their performance. Work engagement can serve as an intrinsic source of motivation for employees towards their work. This engaged approach can lead to higher productivity and effectiveness at work. Moreover, employees who are engaged in their work can create a more positive atmosphere at work, which can improve the overall performance of the team. Job crafting relates to employees' ability and knowledge to perform their jobs effectively. Job crafting refers to the set of skills that an employee needs to do their job and these skills are usually related to experience, education and ability. This study was carried out with the data obtained by using simple convenience sampling from quantitative research methods and the questionnaire prepared in this context was applied online. The questionnaire used in the study consists of five sections including demographic characteristics and 4 scales. The survey was conducted with 192 R&D personnel between January-June 2023 and 183 surveys that could be analyzed were included in the evaluation. Various analyses were conducted within the scope of this research. These analyses include basic frequency analysis, normal distribution test, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, T-Test, ANOVA Test, correlation analysis, simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. Accordingly, it was determined that none of the variables of perceived organizational support, job crafting, work engagement and innovation performance had a significant difference according to gender and age, work engagement showed a statistically significant difference at the undergraduate level compared to the graduate level, work engagement was higher at the undergraduate level, job crafting had a positive positive effect on work engagement, and perceived organizational support, job crafting and work engagement together had a significant positive effect on innovation performance.
