R & D management, outsourcing and incentives in R & D KOBİ'ler

In our country, great importance should be attached to the research and development (r&d) activities of state and private organizations. In our thesis, we have examined research and development in Turkey as well as r&d support and activities aimed at small and medium sized enterprises. The speed at which the world is progressing and with the new technological advances factories taking the place of small enterprises has oriented these small enterprises to innovative activities in order to survive. The importance of innovation and &-d activities has even more increased, especially when it comes to standing strong in a world of fast progressing technology. When considering the shares of world r&d activities, we come to the conclusion that developed countries allot a greater importance to r&d in order to gain a higher benefit from technological innovations. In a world becoming more and more globalized, financial problems are escalating for the small enterprises. To this end, support and a number of financial incentives should particularly be offered to these enterprises to enable them to survive. As far as small enterprises are concerned, we observe that the budget alloted to innovative activities is very insufficient. For the small enterprises -the sme- to survive, institutions and organizations in possession of many characteristics - such as the state, associations and foundations- should provide support, incentives, reductions and facilities to the small and medium sized enterprises to pursue their own r&d activities. National and international financial sources should be investigated in order to find the necessary support and incentives the sme need to solve their financial problems. Consequently, only thanks to this financial support, wil the sme add speed to their activities in the r&d field. The fact that the sme are the subject of our study is of great significance for the economy of our country. Notwithstanding the fact that r&d research is almost inexistent within the sme. In conclusion, to enable the national enterprises to stand strong in a constantly changing world, more importance should be given to research and development activities.
