Climate characteristics of the Araç and Safranbolu

Climate has many effects on the natural environment and human beings. Therefore, determining the climate of a site is very important. First, the climatic characteristics of both meteorology stations were put forward in the study named as "Araç and the Climate Features of Safranbolu". For this purpose, the climate data of the two stations in question were obtained from the General Directorate of Meteorology, and these data were analyzed. Various formulas (such as Köppen, De Martonne, Thornthwaite, Erinç and Rubinstein) were used during these analyzes. The obtained results are presented in graphics and tables. In the study, the climatic characteristics of Araç and Safranbolu meteorology station were compared and the climatic types of both stations were determined. The average annual temperature of the Araç is 11.4 ° C and 12.3 ° C in Safranbolu. The absolute maximum temperature in the Araç was measured with 42.1 ° C on July 30, 2000, and the absolute maximum temperature in Safranbolu with 42 ° C on August 17, 1963. The absolute minimum temperature in the Araç was measured with -19.2 ° C on January 9, 2015, and in Safranbolu on February 23, 1995 with the absolute minimum -17.4 ° C. While the annual average precipitation is 524 mm in Araç, it is 508.9 mm in Safranbolu. According to the Rubinstein formula, the dominant wind direction of the Araç is S 57.3 ° W, and S 13 ° W of Safranbolu. It is noteworthy that the climate classifications are the same at both stations. According to the Köppen classification, Araç and Safranbolu Cfb are in the climate class with warm summer and rainy in all seasons. According to the De Martonne classification, Araç and Safranbolu; in semi-arid-humid regions, it falls into the transition climate type from the middle zone climates class to the middle zone. According to Erinç's rainfall efficiency index, Araç and Safranbolu are classified as semi-arid climates. Araç and Safranbolu show the characteristics of transition climate with the analyzed climate data. Located in the Western Black Sea Region of the Black Sea Region, Araç and Safranbolu feature a transition climate between the Black Sea climate and the Central Anatolia climate.
