Abstract (EN)

Determine the cabin impact resistance and apply the crash test procedures has become considerably important for the drivers and passengers to travel safely in vehicles. Therefore, vehicle manufacturers predict the structural behavior at the time of a possible accident at the design stage with the analysis and cabin impact tests that they make for the vehicle cabin and carry out improvement studies according to these data. In this study, a test platform design in accordance with ECE-R29/3 standards and a finite element analysis for a special purpose heavy-duty vehicle cabin with 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 drives according to vertical and lateral impact and static loading from the top was performed. Analysis data and physical test data were compared and design changes were made for the critical points of the cabinet and improvements were carried out. According to the cabin deformation results obtained with the designed impact test mechanism, it was determined that the impact resistance of the cabin is suitable for heavy vehicles.
