The Study of The Prophet Muhammad?s Letters From The View Point of ArabicLanguage and LiteratureM. Akif YALÇINKAYADokuz Eylul UniversityInstitute Of Social SciencesDepartment Of Fundamental Islamic SciencesThe Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has sent some letters to the rulers of theneighboring countries in order to invite them to Islam with the envoys whichlived before there. In these letters, it was stipulated that if they do not accept theinvitation they should have paid jizyah-head tax.Most of the rulers to whom the visitations were sent replied to awelcoming greeting among these, only Nacashi and Mundhir b. Sawa haveaccepted Islam. Beside these letters Prophet also has sent the letters Muslimgovernors and rulers in Madina according to social, political and judicial issuesand matters. And with other clans, some agreements were made by The ProphetMuhammad himself or his envoys.The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has used simple and the plain style inhis letters not complicated. They are clear. In some letters, there are someQuranic verses and proverbs. It had been tried to express the aim with the fewwords. While being written the existence of literary arts such as metaphor,figure of speech, allegory etc. of a fluent and comprehensible language thesuitable sentences in these letters give a different meaning to these texts fromthe grammatical point of view although whatever literary aim not taken intoaccount.Key World: 1) Letter, 2) The early period of Islam, 3) Prose, 4) Literary composition,5) LanguageI
