Abstract (EN)

In this research, Arabic parallel texts, which are frequently requested to be translated in field activities, are discussed. These texts are described in terms of the main norms and practices they represent in the source and target cultures, and while strategies for the translation of these texts are evaluated, new strategies have also been developed. The research universe consists of birth, marriage, and education documents issued in various Arab countries. The parallel text samples discussed in the study were presented to the researchers with all their natural features and the text units were examined in terms of the leading cultural norms they represented in the translation process. In the research, which can be considered the first study in the field of Arabic parallel text translation, in addition to the special translation strategies, developed to contribute to the structuring of translation practices and teaching, on the one hand, a thematic dictionary representing the themes that translation teachers can use in Arabic special field translation courses was created and on the other hand, a research model has been developed that researchers can refer to in the field of parallel text translation. This model named the "Parallel Texts Research Model", is shown in the conclusion part of the study with suggestions for future research in this field
