Land consolidation planning in the study/research of the changes in land use with the assistance /help of geographical information systems in observation of QuickBird satellite data and the possiblity of the together usage of air photogarphs in North Adana sample

In the study, the images which belong to October 2006 with high definition QuickBird Satellite and the interpretation of the air photos belong to 1989 with eye and the land cover of North Adana, land use, the land change maps, have been produced and the results have been investigated. By using ArcGIS 9.2 and ERDAS 8.4 Professional programs, by means of; most current land cover /usage map of North Adana has been obtained. Besides, the land cover and land usage changes between ?1989?2006? have been observed and analyzed. On each image that has been transferred to the CBS environment; settlement areas, agriculture areas, forest, water surface and other classes have been determined according to CORINE the farther classes have been formed. The total study area in Adana was determined as 41.932 ha. In 1989 while the city center settlement area was 1.351,86 ha, in 2006 the area turned to 2.956,25 ha and showed % 118, 68 increase. Industry regions was broadened from 115 ha area to 148,7 ha area and %29,36 increase has been discovered. Dry agriculture lands turned from 12.4442 ha area to 10.728 ha area and %13,8 decrease was determined. In olive groves % 122 increases was found and from 147 ha area to 337 ha increase was determined. By the sparse forest destruction %8,3 decrease was determined and 271 ha area was wiped away. The statistical datas have showed the land use change dynamics and created a base that will help in the future studies.
