Abstract (EN)

Portable rainfall simulators are an essential research tool for investigating the process dynamics of soil erosion, surface hydrology, soil crusting and soil pollution. There is no standardisation of rainfall simulators. Today, there are different simulators of rainfall of different standards. The main purpose of this study was the design of a portable a rainfall simulator to be used in the field conditions for simulating rainfalls that lead to the generation of runoff and soil loss. The rainfall simulator is designed by using veejet 80100 nozzles and achieved variable rainfall intensities by means of a solenoid valves. The designed field type portable rainfall simulator with particular respect to (1) rainfall characteristics that include homogeneous spatial rainfall distribution and drop spectrum, (2) quick and easy preperation to simulation in the field (3) easy handling and (4) low application costs.
