Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relationship between heat input-material-thickness in arc welding processes which are used widely in today?s industry because of not only giving controllable heat input but also obtaining simple usage in practical applications, was investigated. Calculations were made by using formulas and tables which are related to the relationship between heat input-material-thickness in arc welding processes and also welding parameters were used that are offered to use in practical applications in literature. Calculations? results were summarized. In experimental studies, Fe 37 and AISI 304 samples were used which have 3-6-10 mm thicknesses and 150x250 mm dimensions. Samples were welded on the surface with singlepass weld and then left for cooling in the atmospheric conditions. Microstructure photos of the weldments were taken by microscope and also Vickers Hardness Tests were achieved. Furthermore, the widths of the HAZs were measured by using vernier caliper and the widths of the regions which composes the HAZ were measured by using microscope. The results were shown as figures and tables. The experimental results showed that the microstructeres are nearly accurate comparing to the approximations. For Fe 37 steels, the measurings of the widths of the HAZs and the widths of the regions which composes the HAZ are adequate for calculations. For AISI 304 steels, no measurings could made. The study completed by comparing the theorical and the experimental results. Key words : Arc welding processes, heat input, material, thickness, HAZ.
