The Albanian scholar Shaykh Wahbi Suleyman al-Ghawji and his understanding of fiqh

This study examines the life, works, and contributions of the Albanian scholar Gavoçi to the Islamic world. Gavoçi is an important figure in Albanian society who has contributed to the spread of Islam. The purpose of this study is to introduce Gavoçi as an exemplary figure who has contributed to the shaping of religious life and the spread of Islam in Albanian society using an academic approach. The study uses an observational and analytical method. Data were collected from sources that describe Gavoçi's works and life and were analyzed from an academic perspective. The introduction of the study provides information about the importance, purpose, method, and sources of the thesis. The first chapter discusses Sheikh Gavo-çi's Life, Influence, Teachers, and Services. The second chapter examines Sheikh Gavoçi's scholarly works and contributions to the Islamic world in light of his wri-tings. The third chapter presents Shaikh Gavoçi's understanding of fiqh (Islamic ju-risprudence). In this context, his approach to contemporary issues is presented to the reader with examples. The study concludes that Gavoçi's works and fatwas related to Islamic jurisp-rudence serve as an important source for understanding and implementing the fun-damental principles of Islamic law. Additionally, the study highlights the unique as-pects of Gavoçi's understanding of fiqh, his approaches to usul (principles), and his views on the practical applications of fiqh.
