Özet (EN)

The impact of artistic and ecological activities on children aged 7-10 was examined in this study, through the analysis of "What Are The Birds Thinking?" project, organized during the 17th Istanbul Biennial. The project, which aimed to foster creativity and environmental awareness through interdisciplinary activities, was examined through surveys to see whether art-based projects could promote comprehensive enhancement for the above mentioned age group. Surveys were conducted with project participants from private schools and community education centers. Results showed an increase in artistic appreciation and environmental consciousness among children. Approximately 60% of participants reported a positive change in their perspective on nature. Differences in long-term retention were observed between socio-economic groups. Private school students exhibited higher engagement over time compared to their peers from community centers. The findings highlight the potential of art-based projects in promoting holistic development. The integration of artistic and ecological themes was found to enhance creativity and critical thinking. The need for repeated and inclusive initiatives was emphasized to sustain the impact and address disparities. This study provides insights into the role of interdisciplinary educational programs. The results contribute to the understanding of how creative activities support cognitive, emotional, and social growth in children.
