The effects of sewage sludge applications on several tree species

In this research, it is aimed to determine the effects of the sewage sludge on plant growth and soil. The sludge material that was supplied from "Gökova–Akyaka Wastewater Treatment Plant" was laid on the soil of Liquidambar orientalis, Platanus orientalis and Pinus pinea. The research was carried out on a 450 m2 field in Ortaca Municipality Parks and Gardens Unit and was established on random parcels split-split plot design. In the experiment, sewage sludge was applied as 20 kg/m2 dose and totally 12 times once in four months during two years. When the results are determined; it's found out that it's suitable to use up to 20 kg/m2 sewage sludge on L. orientalis and it didn't cause any harm on this species. Alternatively, it's found out that it's suitable to use 60 kg/m2 sewage sludge on P. orientalis and the plant reacted well on growth. However, it's found out that the usage of sewage sludge was not appropriate for P. pinea. It's recommended to make a different application on another research with this species. According to the results, the usage of the sewage sludge suggestions are made on the damaged fields, agricultural usage and urban green field usage
