Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to determine the effect of a texbook unit, which was prepared according to augmented reality conception, on students' attitude towards Social Science.A quasi-experimental design was used as a quantitative research method.The study population comprised Merzifon district of Amasya province.And the study sample group comprised 4th grade students studying at two different primary schools in Merzifon.For three weeks of experimental and control group studies, lesson plans were prepared according to context-based learning REACT strategy, named after the frst letters of Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Coopeerating and Transferrring. While textbooks integrated with augmented reality contents were used for the experimental group students, the control group stayed same.Analysis of variance and t-test were done for the data analysis depending upon the research problem. The research data were analized by using a SPSS program. In research findings, it was seen that the difference between the social science pre-test and post-test attitude points of the experimental group students were higher than the control group. In addition, it was seen that the social science attitude point average and augmented reality attitude point average of the experimental group students were higher. In line with these findings, it can be said that a textbook unit prepared according to the augmented reality conception has a positive impact on students' attitudes towards Social Science.
