Özet (EN)

In this study, a mobile application has been developed by using both augmented reality technology and geographical information systems together in order to lead to the path that will be followed for restoration of historical artifacts and to prevent any irreversible mistakes that could be made. This application aims to provide users with information about a historical artifact and its restoration works in a historical context, and a guideline for the next possible restoration. Sampling has been done on Galata Tower which is one of Istanbul's symbols within this study. Restorations that have been done on Galata Tower have been shown based on years. Corresponding documents have been taken from No.2 Regional Board Directorate for Protection of Cultural Heritage in order to obtain precise outcomes to model Galata Tower. The study has been enhanced in terms of efficiency and transportation via geographical information systems. Because multiple expertise methods have been adopted, it is predicted that more effective consequences would be obtained. Since historical transformation of Galata Tower is reflected to users in a clear way, the study attracts attention in touristic manner as well.
