Abstract (EN)

Purpose: With this thesis, it was aimed to design an augmented reality application from three-dimensional (3D) images obtained from horse forelimb bones and to evaluate this application by students who studied conventional veterinary anatomy education. Material & Method: Within this scope, taken from the left forelimb bones belonging an healty and adult horse and it contains all anatomical features of its kind also without any pathology. On taking 3d images from those bones by obtained this and proccessed them. In this way, created 9 bone models. Developed an augmented reality application for using by Android O.S. devices (Spectre Anatomy Application) . Within this scope, revealed In order to evaluate the application, a survey was conducted with undergraduate students who studied veterinary anatomy education. Result: It was observed that the augmented reality application become active by pointing device camera to the applications marker. Has been determined that the coded click and drag gestures are functional so that the anatomical sutructures can be seen clearly and examined in the most realisticly. Anatomical stuructures can be selected by clicking on its approximately location 3d model or can be click "select here " tab and selected clicking on the name of the anatomical structure. The application was rated substantly successful by participants. Conclusion: It was concluded that this augmented reality application developed will meet the anatomical model requirement, reduce the animal ethics problem, and contribute to veterinary anatomy education by providing students with time and space freedom, ease of learning and increased motivation. Keywords: Augmented reality, educational material, three dimentional, veterinary anatomy.
