A research on determination of need for technical and farm economics extension of farmers in the Lower Seyhan Plain

In this study, the present need for technical and farm economics extension farmers in the Lower Seyhan plain is investigated. In accordance with this issue, it is introduced that what kind of information producers need regarding agricultural technical and farm economics extension, from which sources they supply such information, and whether Agriculture Authority of Adana have adequate facilities of personnel and instruments and machinery or not in adoption of innovations by producers regarding technical and business economics releases. It is determined by the surveys that producers need information on agricultural inputs, such as 67.6% in fertilization, 66.2%in seed preference, and 64.8%in application of insecticides. It is determined that producers also feel the need of a high percentage in recording with regard to agricultural farms, production and investment planning, agricultural marketing, agricultural support and encouragement while in cooperative trading system at a lower rate. It was determined that producers apply for the agricultural private firms about the imfromation on the usage of plant production inputs. However, they benefitted from their own experience and knowledge on the issues in connection with that of animal prodduction inputs.
