Âşik Çelebi's translation of Hadith-i Erbain (Research-reviewed text)

The love of prophet among Islamic societies has caused the emergence of a number of literary genres around Hz. Muhammad (a.s). The hadith-i erbaîn in these genres has been much discussed in verse and prose by poets and writers in both Arabic and Per-sian, and Turkish literature. Âşık Çelebi is also one of those who produced this kind of work. There are some studies on this work and it contains partial and incomplete information. In this thesis, the criticized text of the Hadith-i Erbaîn Translation of Âşık Çelebi was prepared and tried to correct the mistakes made in previous studies and fill the information deficiencies in it. For the criticized text, the most accurate form was requested to reach by using five writing copies and one printed copy. The work consists of five parts. In the first chapter titled as the introduction, it was given some information about the place of forty hadith tradition in Arabic, Persian and Turkish literature. In the second chapter, the life, literary personality and works of Kemalpaşazade and Âşık Çelebi were given. In the third chapter, the translation of Âşık Çelebi's Hadith-i Erbaîn was evaluated in terms of form and content. In the fourth chapter, the critical text of the work was given. After the conclusion, the old manuscripts of the hadiths and their meanings in Turkish were tabulated and the study was completed with the dictionary and resources sections.
