The life and works of Aşik İzzet Savaş (aziyet) and her place in the minstrelsy tradition

It is a deep-rooted tradition that has been transferred from the past of the minstrel tradition to thepresent and continues to be alive today. The Emlek region is an important culturel center within theTurkish minstrel tradition. Real estate regions are together within the province of Sivas and include theprovinces of Tokat, Yozgat and Kayseri. This work; The life and art of İzzet Savaş, who is one of the representatives of the tradition, whoreflects the region well and plays a role in the continuation of the tradition of minstrelsy, is aimed atdetermining his place in the tradition of minstrelsy. There is no study on Âşık İzzet Savaş, based onacademic sensitivities. The lack of a literature on this representative, the definition of non-traditionİzzet Savaşis the main problem that the study focuses on. In the first part of the study, the life of Âşık İzzet Savaş, in the second part, the Anatolian minstreltradition, the minstrel tradition in Turkey and basic information about minstrelsy, the minstrel traditionof the Emlek region are explained and the place of İzzet Savaş in this tradition has been tried to bedetermined. In the third and last part of the study, the transcription of the works written by Âşık İzzetSavaş, the transcription of the works written for İzzet Savaş were given, and the eight broken and eightlong air notes chosen randomly for the purpose were examined. In the study, document analysis, one ofthe data analysis methods used in qualitative research, narration while creating İzzet Savaş's biography,and purposeful sampling model were used in the selection of the notated works. In the study, the tradition of Anatolian and Turkish minstrelsy has been tried to be defined, and theinstrumental, vocal and musical characteristics of the Emlek region specific to the region have beenrevealed. Two long and broken air notes were taken from each of İzzet Savaş's four albums, andsimilarities and differences were revealed with the features peculiar to the region.
