Thema and values i̇n Âsik Mevlüt Mertoğlu's poems

Asık Literature (Minstel Literature) is a tradition that keeps Turk's understanding of art alive with starting the oldest Turkish culture until today.Asık Literature (Minstel Literature),whose source is utterance,has formed the memory of society spending to different cultures and geographies for centuries and has became an important part of literature.The fact that the Turks has formed many states right from the early periods and sustained this tradition within these states, has certainly conributed to sustain the existence of Asık Literature today. Despite all kinds of scientific and technological developments in recent years,problems such as violence and fear in the world,material and spiritual dissatisfaction, ruthlessness, injustices, insensitivity to what is going in the environment and dissatisfaction with life ,had made the teaching and transfer of sensible values ,which their absence to be felt ,more important ;hade made states national and universal values live and effective again and had created a new set of values that are suitable fort he current age,Thus they had directed to rebuild socio-control that is sunk into oblivion. Informations about the life of Asik Mevlut Mertoglu,who is one of today's representatives of Asik Literature (Minstel Literature),were obtained through a special interview.As a result of the analysis of Asik's two hundred and forty two poems,it was understood that he had put forth products that will form the building bloks of Turkish folk poetry. In our study,it has been determined that Asik Mevlut Mertoglu has provided the continuity of Asik Literature (Minstel Literature) in Erzurum and at the same time its sensetive approach to values education.
