A study on the Soldier Journal

The Soldier Journal started to be published just after the declaration of the Second Constitutional Monarchy in İstanbul. The publication policies of journal were in favour of community of union and progress and were opposed to Abdülhamid II. It was stated in the articles of the journal that Abdülhamid II was blamed for disasters and crises which Ottoman Empire faced with. The articles in journal was mainly concentrated on military and political issues of the Empire. In the military issues, military organizing developments, technological changes, articles and evaluations about wars accurring in recent period such as Ottoman-Greek war in 1897 were included. In some parts of the journal, the articles of foreign officers like Von der Goltz were involved. The Military Journal was published twice a month in a whole year and it is composed of twenty-four volumes. In this study, the articles published in the Military Journal have been examined and evaluated in accordance with methodology of history and in a scientific way.
