Abstract (EN)
The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of growing double stem formed of the cotyledon leaves grafting tomatoes on crop yield and quality. This study was carried out at the Research and Application area of Akdeniz University, Faculty of Agriculture in a glass greenhouse. In the study, as a rootstock was used cv. Classmate, and cv. Android and Torry (Solanum lycopersicum L.) as scion, and applications were created with the stem numbers to be left. In the study, each application was arranged in 12 plants and 4 replicates over 2 varieties. Research has been created with the grafted and ungrafted plant materials according to the number of the left stems. Tomatoes were planted a double row system with 100-50x50 cm. The stems, which are allowed to grow in plants to be two stems were formed from cotyledon leaves. Applications in the experiment; grafted double stem (stems formed from cotyledon leaves), ungrafted double stem (stems formed from cotyledon leaf), grafted single stem and ungrafted single stem (control). This study was examined the; leaf index, plant height, plant stem diameter, leaf chlorophyll content (SPAD), macro-micro element level in leaf, fruit color, Brix, EC and pH value of fruit, dry weight in fruit and total yield. In the experiment carried out, the highest plant height (167.25 cm) was seen from the control, while the highest stem diameter (16.58 mm) was observed in the grafted double stem application. Leaf chlorophyll amount was obtained from grafted double and non-grafted double stem applications (41.36; 41.98), while the lowest values were obtained in control with single grafted application (38.94; 9.38). While the leaf content of the highest macroelements (N; 4.12 P; 0.45 K; 2.09) was observed from the control, it was found that there was no significant difference from the microelements except Manganese (Mn 146.5 grafted single stem). Similarly, no significant difference was found between the applications in L*, Chroma* and Hue0 values measured in fruit color. While the highest Brix (4.46) and the EC value (5.3) were obtained from ungrafted single stem, there was no significant difference in the pH. The highest value (5.49 % and 5.59 % respectively) were determined from the grafted double stem and ungrafted double stem applications in fruit dry weight data. In terms of total yield, the control (12.27 kg / m2) was the highest yield.
