The analysis of Aslı Erdoğan's short stories and novels in terms of psychoanalytic method

This dissertation titled ?The Analysis of Aslı Erdoğan?s Short Stories and Novels in terms of Psychoanalytic Method? aims to consolidate the relationship between literature and psychoanalyses. Aslı Erdoğan?s novels and short stories have the theme of personal experiences and inner life. These novels and short stories containing a great deal of psychological elements are the ones which are appropriate to be analyzed in terms of psychoanalyses.This thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter is titled as ?The Connection Between Literature and Psychology?. In this chapter, under the title of "Literature and Psychoanalyses? the interaction between these two areas is concerned and in the same chapter, entitled as "Psychoanalytic Literary Criticism" the psychoanalytic literary theory and the method used in this study are dealt. In the second chapter named as ?An Author Wandering on the Passages of Psyche: Aslı Erdoğan? it is dealt with Aslı Erdoğan?s life and her narration on the purpose of contributions to the dissertation. In the third chapter entitled as ?The Psychoanalytic Characteristics on Her Narration? consisting of the main chapter of the dissertation, Aslı Erdoğan?s narration are tried to be studied from the psychoanalytic point of view. In this part, instead of applying completely the psychoanalytic criticism, more flexible approach based on the psychoanalytic criticism is preferred in this study.
