Abstract (EN)
11 STUDY OF POLLEN MORPHOLOGY STRUCTURES OF SOME SPECIES THAT BELONGING TO ASPARAGUS L., ALLIUM L., Ml/SGIR/ MILLER AND FRITILLARIA L. (LILIACEAE) GENERA (Ph.D. Thesis) HÜLYA OZLER GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCD2NCE AND TECHNOLOGY July 2001 ABSTRACT In this study, pollen morphology structures of fifty taxa of belonging to Asparagus, Allium, Muscari ve Fritillaria genera of Liliaceae family have been comparatively examined through light (LM), scanning (SEM) and transmission (TEM) electron microscopes. Making preparations for pollen grains of each taxa according to Wodehouse (1935) and Erdtman (1960) methods, we have separately given palynological definitions. Pollen grains through LM are monosulcate, prolate, subprolate, isopolar and bilateral symmetry. In all species of Allium and Muscari genera and in all species, except for A. coodei P.H.Davis of Asparagus genus, in F. aurea Schott, F. bithynica Baker ve F. sibthorpiana (Sm)Baker species of Fritillaria genus, sulcus extends from distal to proximal. Their ornamentational characteristics, observed in their SEM micrographs have been established as their diagnostic features for the solution of their systematic and pylogenetic problems. According to these characteristics, Asparagus, Allium and Fritillaria species are divided into four, Muscari species into two types, all the species examined into eight types. Fifty taxa apertures belonging to those four genera and their exine structures has been interpretted in terms of phylogenetic.
