Nowadays, the frequency of infertility is increasingly confused as a problem. Many factors cause infertility either directly or indirectly. Frequent use of technological tools such as diseases, living conditions, occupational conditions, smoking, alcohol, mobile phone, chemical substances and preservatives the most prominent of these factors. One of these ingredients found in ready-to-eat foods and carbonated beverages is aspartame. Aspartame is widely used as a sweetener, especially in a variety of food, carbonated beverages and medicines. It is 200 times sweeter than sugar, but it is a very low calorie substance. After aspartame digestion is metabolized to 50% aspartic acid, 40% phenylalanine and 10% methanol. The most toxic among these metabolites is methanol, and formaldehyde occurs when methanol is also metabolized. Studies have shown that aspartame has toxic effects on other tissues, but there is no study of the apoptotic effect on testicles. CAPE, is a component of propolis produced by honey bees .CAPE, a phenolic compound, has many features such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral anticancer.In this study, we aimed to show the negative effects of aspartame on testis, if any, and to see how much these negative effects can be reduced with caffeic acid phenethyl ester. 29 male mice were used for the experiment. The subjects; The control was divided into five groups as Sham, CAPE, ASP and CAPE + ASP. CAPE and CAPE + ASP were given intraperitoneally at a dose of 20 mg / kg for 35 days. ASP and CAPE + ASP were given aspartame at a dose of 50 mg / kg by gavage. As a result, no pathological change was observed between the groups in histological examination. In immunohistochemical staining using Cleaved Caspase-3, there was no difference between the groups. As for Caspase 8 and P53 expressions, it was seen that aspartame reduced p53 activation in the testis and, accordingly, slowed the progression to apoptosis.
