An i̇nvesti̇gati̇on on pulpi̇ng by kraft and modi̇fed kraft methods of aspi̇r (Carthamus ti̇nctori̇us, L.) straws

In this study, pulp produced with kraft and modified kraft process using aspir (carthamus tiinctorius, l.) straws. In modified kraft process, Anthraquinone (AQ) and Polysulfide (PS) were used. For determining the most appropriate cooking condition, a total of 9 different cooking were made with pre-hydrolysis. In addition to that, the physical and mechanical properties were also improved with Pre-treatment. Total yield was not changed on pulps pre-treated with oxalic acid and ethanol. However, viscosities increased. In the process with. Produced pulp properties was quite different than a traditional cook, and process has a higher efficiency.
