Abstract (EN)

The environment is the living area where all living things in nature interact with each other and with the inanimate elements of nature in the physical, chemical, biological, social and cultural sense. While these versatile interactions of living things with their environment form the basis of life, on the other hand, these interactions cause some changes in the environment. Today, the interactions of human beings with the environment they live in, unfortunately, do not bring good changes in nature. These changes that human beings have created in nature have caused the deterioration of the natural balance and eventually environmental problems, one of the biggest problems of today, have emerged. The most effective and preferred way to solve environmental problems is through "Environmental Education". One of the most important aims of environmental education is to gain an "Environmental Attitude" to individuals. An instructional design that includes systematic steps that are parallel to the technological developments of our age and that can meet student needs can help students gain environmental attitudes by arranging their learning processes. The ASSURE model is a flexible instructional design model that includes all of the stated situations. The aim of this research study carried out in this context is to reveal whether the environmental education planned according to the ASSURE model has an effect on the environmental attitudes of secondary school students. Within the scope of the research, the effects of the courses supported by the ASSURE model and the courses implemented based on the 2018 Science Curriculum on the environmental attitudes of the students were compared. In the light of the findings, it was concluded that there were significant positive changes in environmental attitudes of the students in the experimental group, while there were no significant changes in the control group.
