Effect of student achi̇evement addressed to computer-assi̇sted instructi̇on based teachi̇ng methods for astronomy course

In this study, we analyse how Computer-Assisted Instruction (CAI) materials in schoolteaching effect to academic achievement and learning activity for its attitudes that are subjected to prospective teachers. Data of this research were obtained in the academic year of 2011-2012 from senior classes of daytime and eveningtime education in the Department of Educational Sciences, Firat University, are considered in this study. The mixed-model, descriptive and empirical groups, is comprised of 109 prospective teachers as a participation. The aforementioned model are consisted such that 57 participations in treatment group and 52 participations in control group. Almost all of the participations in both groups are made equivalent before getting started to this study. It should be note that the treatment group was instructed by CAI methods, and the control group was instructed by traditional methods. Data of this study were obtained in one academic term based on CAI methods for its the attitude scale and academic achievement scores for the prospective teachers' opinions. These data were analysed by descriptive statistics techniques, that are addressed to %, f, mean ve "t" test. Using the method described in this study, we determined that the attitude scale and academic achievement scores of the treatment group, that was instructed by CAI methods, improved significantly comparing well with the control group, that was instructed by traditional methods.These data shows that using CAI methods in Astronomy class in Educational Sciences supported to improvement of academic achievement and learning activity for its attitudes that are subjected to prospective teachers.
