Abstract (EN)
The Assyrian State is Analyzed in four sections as Old Assyria, Middle Assyria, New Assyria and the İmperial period. Assyria is a Mesopotamian society that face great importance to religion from its foundation until İts collapse. Religion played an important role in Assyria in every field that can be considered social, political and economic. Assyrians were a polytheistic society. They worshipped all the gods in Mesopotamia. Especially the rulers belived that the gods were effective in all political developments, so the rulers of the Assyrian State built temples, which were considered to be the home of the gods, after ascending throne. They ensured the repair of the temples that had been ruined over the years. They wrote about these in their inscriptions. They offered sacrifices to their gods and gave tüm the necessary value. The rulers attributed their victories in war ti the gods being pleased with them, and when they were defeated, they throught that thought that they had incurred the anger of the gods. When they conquered a region, they paid homage to the gods in that region and took care of their temples. In this, they aimed both to gain the satisfaction of the people of the conquered region and to gain the love of the gods. İn the Assyrian country, the religion factor is always encountered in politics in general. Key Words: Assyrian State, Religion, Temple, Altar
