Özet (EN)

This study was conducted to investigate the genetic make up, general and spesificcombining abilities and hybrid vigors in terms of yield and yield components in full-diallelhybrid maize population obtained from 6 inbred maize lines and their 30 F1 hybrids. In maincrop growing season, experiment was conducted in randomized complete blocks design withthree replications in 2004 under Çukurova region conditions.According to variance analysis, variation was found to be significant for allcharacteristics among F1 hybrids.Overdominance was found in plant hight, ear hight, stem diameter, ear lenght, grainnumber per ear, grain ratio, protein, starch and oil contents, while partial dominance wasoccured for ear diameter, grain weight per ear, grain yield.General and spesific combining ability was found to be significant for all traitsinvestigated. General combining ability was higher than spesific combining ability for alltraits except for ear hight and ear lenght. Lines 1 and 6 were found to be the most suitablegenotypes for genotype improvement. Average heterosis and heterobeltiosis values were%60.9, %40.8 for grain yield, respectively.Key Words: Corn, diallel cross, general and spesific combining ability, heterosis, heterobeltiosis.
